In the ‘API key’ section, you can generate a key that allows your own systems to securely retrieve data from your company via Sturely’s external API.
An active key is displayed with a truncated version, the date of creation, the date of last use and the scope of the key – for example, restricted to reading position data. Below the key, Sturely shows a specific usage example, in which the key is sent as a Bearer token in a call to the external API.
Using the “Regenerate” button, you can create a new key if you suspect that the existing key has been compromised or if you wish to rotate it periodically as a precaution; this immediately invalidates the old key, meaning that all systems using the old key must be reconfigured.
Using “Revoke”, you can revoke a key completely without creating a new one; this is recommended when the external integration is no longer required.
